YOU ARE INVITED "YOUTH SHAPING THE FUTURE" Saturday April 5th, 2008 8:00am - 2:30pm Beverly Hills Suites Hotel 383 Center Street Windsor Locks, CT 06096 Dear Friends in Interact, Rotaract and Rotary, I remember the quote of a famous General who said, "More than Half the Battle is Just Showing Up." This year's conference will include programming for students, school advisors and Rotarians. Interact Clubs will be asked to prepare a 10 minute presentation on their most successful service projects (either community and/or International) and/or their most successful fundraisers. Second, our Youth Service Clubs need to publicize their achievements. We will have a film crew from a local Television station recording your presentations at the Conference. This film will be made available to presenting Clubs and other Interact Clubs in our District for presentation on your local television stations to "community groups and your local Rotary Club. "He who yells from mountain communicates message better than he who yells down well!" We have an obligation to bring our message of "Youth Shaping the Future" to our communities and our schools. You can now plan a local television presentation using this tape with an introduction from you. Third, come share and learn. Every Club deserves representation. Remember - "More than Half the Battle is Just Showing Up." Interaction between students of different Clubs will once again be emphasized throughout the Conference and in the breakout sessions. Every year we are all impressed with the commitment to service, dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm of our youth. I have heard repeatedly over the years that the students who join Interact (High School) or Rotaract (College level) are the "cream of the crop." Bringing people together who share the same goals and dreams for International peace and understanding and the betterment of mankind benefits all who attend. Adult advisors and Rotarians come away from these conferences filled with as much enthusiasm as our students. I look forward to seeing you and your fellow Interact Leaders.
