Seeking GSE Team Members for Exchange to Turkey
Alma Kruh, Group Study Exchange District Chair, is putting out the call to local Rotary Clubs for young professionals who would like to participate in a cultural/professional exchange to Turkey. The exchange will cover four weeks, at this time May 4 through June 2, 2013. The team will explore parts of Turkey, including the area around Istanbul. During that time, a team from Turkey will be exploring our Rotary District 7890, sharing personal knowledge of their professions and their country's customs. Rotarians will be hosting the team and sharing our customs, vocations and lifestyles with the Turkish team members.
The exchange program, sponsored by The Rotary Foundation, is designed to promote international understanding and goodwill through person-to-person contact. While abroad, our team members live will live with Rotarians and have the opportunity to meet their professional counterparts, experience the cultural heritage of the area, and learn about community and international Rotary projects. They will tour the Rotary district of their hosts, which could include moving to a new location every few days.
